David Shillinglaw
David Shillinglaw
David Shillinglaw is a UK-based artist known for his vibrant, symbolic compositions that explore the complexities of human nature and communication. Moving between studio and street, his practice spans intricate works on paper to large-scale murals. David's work often maps out imagined worlds - chaotic, playful, and philosophical - where familiar symbols, structures, and worlds collide.
This latest release, originally commissioned by Laura Lee of Khruangbin, reflects David’s unmistakable visual language. Inspired by board games like Snakes and Ladders, the piece layers a grid of bold colour, symbolic forms, and systems that capture the macro and micro elements of our environment. At once structured and spontaneous, the artwork invites you to explore, reflect, and find joy in its details.
