Ruben Martinho, known online as WellWishers88, is a UK-based graphic artist originally from Portugal. His work draws on his childhood nostalgia while attempting to evoke emotion and memories in the viewer. Inspired by 80s and 90s design, Martinho’s work expresses a transhuman aesthetic where the human and the technological merge. The 20th century New Wave science fiction writer J.G. Ballard wrote "Science and technology multiply around us. To an increasing extent they dictate the languages in which we speak and think. Either we use those languages, or we remain mute.” Utilising contemporary digital design methods while drawing on his formative creative explorations into collage, Martinho’s work has a distinct language of its own. A language that reminds us of the past while also looking forward to an aesthetic of the distant future. All of our giclée prints are made using a heavyweight 200gsm museum-quality fine art paper. This paper is FSC approved and has a smooth, clean, matte finish. For information on shipping, please see our shipping policy.
